Responsibilities
  • Respond to work orders by logging into a computer/tablet or using verbal or written direction from supervisor.
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose repair causes.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep each building running smoothly, building systems operating efficiently, and physical condition of buildings from deteriorating.
  • Perform basic commercial flooring repairs.
  • Perform basic wall repairs (patch drywall and paint).
  • Troubleshoot and repair roof leaks.
  • Perform basic plumbing diagnostics and troubleshoot clogged drains and leaking pipes.
  • Research and maintain parts and tool inventories.
  • Research and maintain attic stock inventories.
  • Knowledge of building life safety systems, including emergency generators and fire panels.
  • Modular furniture installation including ergonomic adjustments to furniture assembly/disassembly.
  • Fully understand and adhere to local and state building codes including ADA standards.
  • Fully understand and adhere to Peckham Facilities Standards.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to assist with diagnosing repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment daily.
  • Promote Peckham’s vision, values, culture, and commitment to excellent customer service to all team members, staff, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to ask questions and voice concerns in relation to work and work environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Comments
  • Valid MI driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check to access secure areas.

Technical Capabilities
  • Ability to record daily tasks, checklists, record PM, and utilize a work order system by means of a cell phone application or computer.
Shift

Normal work hours for this position are 7:00am – 3:30pm and are subject to immediate schedule adjustment and/or overtime to accommodate emergency repairs. This position will rotate with other technicians on an on‑call status.

Travel Requirements

This position will regularly travel between Peckham facilities in Michigan.

Physical Demands

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise levels. The employee will regularly access roofs and frequently use ladders and lifts.
