Overview

Responsibilities- Provide work preparatory skill development, employment obtainment and employment retention supports to a caseload of children (16+) and/or adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
- Facilitate activities and opportunities through direct/indirect support to obtain and sustain individualized community integrated employment aligned with Job Seekers’ interests, priorities, desires, abilities and talents.
- Support Job Seekers to author their job/career goals through self-determination and person-centered planning with support from family/friends, community partners, community employers and other supports as applicable.
- Provide active consultation to individuals living with families, in supported living situations, group homes, or independently in the community, and build professional relationships with community partners and employers to develop employment skill learning opportunities.
- Assist with customized employment approaches and long-term employment retention by supporting employers and co-workers to enable success for Job Seekers.
- Collaborate with community partners and clinical staff to increase integration and independence in the Job Seeker’s community of residence.
- Carry out all program/sub-unit activities in alignment with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
- Promote CMHA-CEI’s inclusive culture and mission in recruitment and service delivery.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Vocational Rehabilitation, or closely related field required.
- State of Michigan credential (i.e., LLBSW, LBSW, SSTR) or must have applied for and be able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- One year of professional work experience with persons with developmental disabilities required.
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in writing and verbally.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation for job-related use.
- Flexible schedule designed around the support needs of Job Seekers; ability to adjust work schedule to evenings and weekends as needed.
- Background verification and credentialing including Michigan State Police clearance, verification of professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, and driving record verification.
- Educational background check and verification of acceptable work history.
- Must undergo and pass a Central Registry Clearance Check.
- Must pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.

Starting salary $24.76 - $28.15 hourly. 40 hours per week; applicant should expect to adjust work schedule to intermittent evenings and weekends.
