Personal Banker I - N. Washington Square

The Person al Banker I position provides an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. The employee processes teller transactions and serves as a member of the platform staff. By using a consultative sales and service process, the banker helps customers understand and address their financial needs, delivering solutions that span the customer lifecycle.
The role is responsible for risk management, actively engaging in risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting, while always adhering to policies, procedures and the bank’s risk appetite.
- Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in a book of business through proactive outreach in person, over the phone, or other appropriate channels.
- Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs and tailor recommendations, solutions and advice.
- Maintain working knowledge of products, services and processes offered.
- Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and all problems are resolved.
- Analyze customer credit data and other financial information to ensure customers are placed in appropriate solutions that align with their needs.
- Provide customer support reinforcing the value of current and new technology.
- Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines.
- Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling the ethical behavior expected from every employee within the Bancorp.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- High School Diploma or GED and at least six months of customer service experience, or a college degree or equivalent military experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships.
- Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
- Exhibits business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions.
- Requires SAFE Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
- Normal office environment.
- Extended viewing of computer screens.
The base salary for this position reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skill set, experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. Any such payment is based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
