Parents are a vital partner in the collaborative efforts of the Region 7 Perinatal Quality Collaborative to ensure that birthing people and babies are healthy and thriving in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties. Their experiences, perspectives, and contributions can help inform changes to make systems more equitable, culturally responsive, and family centered. To increase the engagement of parents, Region 7 will establish a parent ambassador program which will hire 2-3 Parent Ambassadors to carry out the essential functions as described below.
Responsibilities:- Recruiting from new parent representatives.
- Asking the current Ambassador for recommendations.
- Reviewing previous applicants.
Provide monthly documentation of activities and hours spent.
Other Functions:- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must adhere to departmental standards in regard to HIPAA and other privacy issues.
- During a public health emergency, the employee may be required to perform duties similar to, but not limited, to those in his/her job description.
- Must adhere to departmental standards in regard to confidentiality and other privacy issues.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner, change focus on projects as needed and multitask.
- Dependable and regular attendance required.
- Ability to handle stressful situations on an occasional basis.
- Ability to maintain excellent customer service during stressful situations.
A minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent education.
Experience:A minimum of 1 year of parent or community leadership experience.
Other Requirements:Demonstrates effective communication skills by engaging, interacting and working with all individuals to ensure clarity and understanding in all interactions.
Working Conditions:- This position works in both an indoor and outdoor environment. While indoors, there is no planned exposure to notable lights, noises, odors, temperatures or weather conditions. While outdoors, exposure to lights, noises, odors, temperatures or weather conditions cannot be controlled and may be extreme.
- This position is required to travel for meetings and appointments.
- This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, traverse, climb, balance, twist, bend, stoop/crouch, squat, kneel, crawl, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, handle, pinch, type, endure repetitive movements of the wrists, hands or fingers.
- This position performs light work requiring the ability to exert 20 pounds or less of force in the physical requirements above.
- This position primarily requires close visual acuity to perform tasks within arm’s reach such as: viewing a computer screen, using measurement devices, inspecting and assembling parts, etc.
