• Provide technical leadership to the application development team and offer guidance on design and development.
• Design and develop complex Java/JEE applications for MDHHS Infectious Disease area.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure technical designs meet requirements and align with business objectives.
• Develop business application components using Object‑Oriented Java and JEE technologies.
• Create software design documents and obtain stakeholder review/approval.
• Design, develop and maintain web applications, interfaces and RESTful web services.
• Write testable code using Spring MVC, Hibernate, jQuery/HTML5, JavaScript, HTML, XML, React
  
  JS.
• Design both logical and physical database models in Oracle and Postgres; perform data migration from Oracle to Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Execute full SDLC, including writing technical specifications for complex projects.
• Prepare technology roadmaps for supported applications.
• Tune SQL queries and troubleshoot issues using SQL/PLSQL scripts.
• Integrate software components into fully functional systems.
• Develop prototypes and mockups for user review and approval.
• Document system flowcharts, screen layouts and logical flows.
• Work on large agile projects using Java 8, SOAP, RESTful Web Services, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Batch, Spring Security.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Active
  
  MQ broker (good to have).
• Use source control tools such as GIT.
• Develop with application servers:
  Apache Tomcat, JBOSS, Open Shift Container.

• Candidates must be willing to come onsite (Lansing, MI) for interviews.
• Hybrid position – onsite 2 days per week – required.
• CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL (within 60 mi radius of Lansing). Remote‑only option not available.

• Database Systems, Elastic Search, Python Scripting, Oracle Database CMM Test Driven Development.
• Hands‑on expertise in Databricks.
• Experience with Java, Spring frameworks, RESTful services, JAXB, Hibernate.
• Broad knowledge of database design and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with data migration and integration of legacy systems.
• Experience in agile development environments.
