Job Overview

Data Science Platform Engineering team at Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a web developer for a role that blends software engineering with data platform responsibilities. The position offers a merit‑based work‑from‑home program after initial in‑person training, allowing up to three remote days per week.

• Design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software programs and applications.
• Maintain and support new and existing systems.
• Communicate effectively with business users, team members, and management.
• Design and implement robust, flexible, and easily maintainable solutions.
• Identify and present opportunities for process improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Understanding of object‑oriented and/or functional design paradigms and best practices.
• High aptitude for logical thinking and pattern recognition.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and practices.
• Adaptability to constant change and innovation.
• Proficiency in web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular.
• Knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, WebAPI, and database design (SQL).
• Experience with Core MVC, AWS Cloud technologies, automated testing, software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and version control (git) is a plus.
