We areseekinga dedicated and enthusiastic coach to lead the Waverlymiddle school volleyball program for this upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, a commitment to fostering student-athlete development, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position requires effective communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a focus on skill development and teamwork.

• Coachvolleyballat themiddle/high school level(MHSAA)
• Must be able to effectively teach and coach student athletes.
• Plan, organize, and conduct daily practice sessions focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitions.
• Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to athletes.
• Ability to instill, enforce and provide fair and firm direction.
• Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect, collaboration, and personal growth among student-athletes.
• Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote a cohesive athletic program.
• Attend all scheduled games and events, supporting the team and representing
  
  Waverly Middle School positively.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration.regarding practice schedules, game details, and team expectations
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and competitions.
• Coordinate teambuilding/bonding activities.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and knowledge of the sport.
• Willingto attend summer camps.
• Regular and on-time attendance is required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Experience coachingvolleyballathletes at themiddle/high school level.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball rules,strategies and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification and CPI (de-escalation) certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Must have attended MHSAA Cap Program or willingness to attend.

Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Ability todemonstratethe character traits of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring when interacting with staff, students, and community members.
