Who are we?

We are a growing Tier 1 supplier to the automotive, military and fuel cell markets specializing in the casting, CNC machining and assembly of engineered components. We are the “go to” supplier for Ford Motor Company. Our programs are typically complex, require unique solutions and launch quickly.

What do we need?

We need a high energy, quick-thinking Shipping and Receiving Manager to help us reach new heights, are you up for the challenge?

What will you do?

Lead the team to support all aspects of shipping and receiving.

Drive change to improve the department based on experience and best practices.

Learn and relentlessly pursue maximizing ERP (Global Shop Solutions) functions.

Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as sales orders, invoices, etc. to verify accuracy.

Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, etc. or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping.

Prepare documents, such as shippers, bills of lading, or custom documents to route shipments.

Communicate with logistic carriers as well as internal and external customers to address issues, such as shortages, etc.

Help create corrective actions.

Pack, seal, label, or affix shipping documents to prepare materials for shipping.

Send ASN’s and confirm receipt within Customer Portal.

Contact carrier representatives to arrange or issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.

Deliver or route materials to departments using forklift, hand truck or sorting bins.

Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

Determine best value shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.

Update customer portals with logistics information as necessary.

Track dunnage and coordinate return for production shipping.

Support daily drop in requests.

Report to the Operations Manager.

What do you need to be successful?

3-5 years’ experience in shipping and receiving management or another supply chain role.

MRP and/or ERP proficiency and desire to improve.

Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to recognize changes in patterns, ask questions to understand, and resolve errors.

Excellent people skills and a strong desire to win with a team in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Comfort with all forms of communication: in person, virtual, phone calls, emails, texting, etc. Whatever it takes.

The ability to reprioritize work, ask for help and meet deadlines.

To enjoy leading a team in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

A strong sense of urgency and a take the ball and run with it approach.

Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Suite of Products.

Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.

Automotive experience in a Tier 1.
