SUMMARY
Will work in a large warehouse environment receiving items from delivery trucks and placing them in the appropriate storage areas. May also pick items for outbound shipments, sort inbound shipments, manually load or unload trucks, unpack, shelve, or otherwise move items to proper locations according to the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The employee will work largely unsupervised throughout the shift, using an assigned hand‑held radio frequency unit with LED display and a bar‑code scanner to locate, verify, and label stock.
WAGE& SHIFTS
Wage: $23.45 per hour (with $5.09 overtime).
Shift: 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (2nd Shift).
Location:
7100 Millett Hwy, Lansing, MI 48916.
- Use radio‑frequency stock locator to find items.
- Report discrepancies in orders to the Shipping and Receiving supervisor.
- Key 15‑digit part numbers into the computer system.
- Meet established deadlines for material handling and labeling.
- Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturer’s standards of use and cleaning.
- Work with the supervisor toward meeting performance standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Operate a fork truck, reach truck, push carts, and motorized pallet jacks daily.
- Operate with high accuracy while entering computerized data and printing tags.
- Provide training support to peers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 40 pounds moderately, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- No positive drug screen within the last 12 months.
- Reliable transportation to commute between job locations.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to recognize discrepant 15‑digit part numbers.
- Must be licensed to operate a forklift and a reach truck.
- Maintain respectful communication and give/receive constructive feedback.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Problem‑solving skills.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for fine tasks, and reach with arms. Frequently stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift up to 10 pounds, lift up to 40 pounds frequently, and lift up to 75 pounds occasionally. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Typical noise level is moderate.
