    Monday – Friday.

Position Purpose

The Driver, Hourly CDL‑A is responsible for operating a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive‑and‑drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food‑related products to customers safely and timely, in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). The driver communicates professionally with customers, vendors, and co‑workers, ensuring accurate and timely answers to inquiries.

Functions as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre‑/post‑trip) and inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards; report any safety issues or necessary repairs.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines and policies.
  • Immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailer to ensure freight is properly loaded and secured.
  • Count items and verify customer invoices; complete all required freight paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach any pre‑loaded trailer as needed.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route delivery schedule; unload products from the trailer and transport items to designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage‑control checks on items, scan and contact supervisor as needed; verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures; collect money (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork, and clear trailers as required.
  • Record hours of service daily and enter logs in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required; secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience driving tractor‑trailers.
  • Valid CDL‑A.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Attain or maintain a current DOT Health Card.
  • Able to hand‑lift and operate two‑wheelers, lift gates, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–35 pounds to approximately 60–90 pounds.
