Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery drivers ensure that customers’ products arrive on time and in good condition, and they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers. As a Shuttle Driver, you transport empty trailers to operating company warehouse locations and turn around to deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You drive a tandem trailer, tractor‑trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of transporting empty trailers to the operating company warehouse locations, then turn around and deliver full trailers with various products to domicile/shuttle yard locations in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and interact with customers, vendors and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly. Function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; inspect to ensure compliance with company safety standards and take appropriate action.
  • Report all safety issues and repairs required.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines and policies; immediately report all safety hazards and inspect trailers for proper loading and securing of freight.
  • Ensure all required route paperwork is present with the load and available upon dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to the predetermined route schedule.
  • Perform hook/unhook procedures following safety guidelines.
  • Park and store tractor‑trailers in designated areas.
  • Ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers, bring them back to driver check‑in at base facility, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter into log in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 12 months commercial driving experience
  • High school diploma/GED or state‑approved equivalent
  • Internal candidates must be in good standing
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday‑Thursday nights (schedules may vary)
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Ability to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10‑35 pounds and up to between approximately 60‑90 pounds, depending on location
Compensation

Earning potential $80,000 to $85,000.
