Truck Driver CDL A Local

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Lansing, MI. The role includes weekly pay of $1,200 or more, hourly pay of $30.51, paid training, and a schedule from Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays. The driver will operate a 53" dry van tractor–cab, driving local home‑daily shuttle routes and handling some touch, drop & hook auto‑parts freight.

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide an appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months of experience within the past three years, OR
  • 2 years of experience within the last five years, OR
  • 5 years of experience within the last ten years
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, a road test, and/or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading of freight as required by the customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
