Material Handler

Position Overview

Ryder is hiring Forklift Operators and Material Handlers in Lansing, Michigan. The position is a warehouse forklift operator / driver role that is paid weekly.

• Hourly Pay: $18.72 - $19.15 per hour
• Overtime Pay: $28.08 - $28.72 per hour
• Shift Premium: $1.00 when working Second Shift
• Schedule:
  
  Second Shift Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm; occasional Saturdays as needed

Lansing, MI 48917

• Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Operate the automated packing system and provide technical and maintenance support during core shift hours.
• Accurately pick and pack products, audit orders, stage totes, and load/unload trucks.
• Complete required paperwork, including picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Execute duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Team player with the ability to work in a diverse environment.
• Strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Highly thorough, dependable, and punctual with a good attendance record.
• Demonstrate high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
• Ability to lift or push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.

• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
