This position is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering materials to customers while strictly following DOT regulations and company safety standards. You will support transportation operations by inspecting equipment, securing cargo, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing professional customer service throughout the delivery process. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to operate equipment and handle materials in a fast-paced delivery environment.
EssentialSkills
- One to three years of recent commercial motor vehicle driving experience.
- Current and valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Demonstrated ability to operate tractor trailers safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform thorough vehicle inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety issues.
- Ability to secure loads properly, including use of straps and other load‑securing equipment.
- Capability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and similar material‑handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to meet all pre‑employment and ongoing compliance requirements, including background and driving record standards.
You will enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with start times between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., offering predictable days and no weekend work. Overtime is available as business requires, providing opportunities for additional earnings while maintaining a stable work‑life balance. You will join a distribution operation that supports a key segment of the building materials industry, contributing to projects that shape local communities.

This role operates within a wholesale distribution environment focused on residential building materials and custom door fabrication. The facility primarily serves independent lumberyards, specialty retailers, and regional builders with a wide array of construction products. You will work in and around a warehouse and yard setting, operating tractor trailers and using material‑handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to load and unload products.
The schedule runs Monday through Friday with start times typically between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., and overtime as business needs require. The environment emphasizes adherence to DOT regulations, safety procedures, and careful handling of building materials, with a focus on efficient, accurate, and safe delivery operations.
This is a Permanent position based out of Lansing, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $54,080.00 - $60,320.00 per year.
