Forklift Operator Material Handler

Position Overview

Ryder is hiring Forklift Operators and Material Handlers in Lansing, Michigan. Positions offer weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

• Hourly Pay: $18.72 - $19.15 per hour
• Overtime Pay: $28.08 - $28.72 per hour
• Shift Premium: $1.00 when working Second or Third Shift
• Second Shift: Monday-Friday 2:30 pm–11:00 pm, plus overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed
• Third Shift: Sunday‑Thursday 10:30 pm–7:00 am, plus overtime and occasional Fridays as needed

Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver positions involve the handling of automotive parts, operations with sit‑down forklifts and stand‑up tuggers, and fulfillment of distribution across the U.S.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Adhere to performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurately pick and pack, audit, tote induction, staging of products, and load/unload trucks.
• Complete day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours of production.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to be a team player and work within a diverse work environment.
• Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with a good attendance record.
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy even under pressure.
• Can lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
• Will work a flexible schedule across various shifts.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
