SUMMARY

Work in a large warehouse environment receiving items from delivery trucks and placing items in the appropriate warehouse area. Responsibilities include picking items for outbound shipments, sorting inbound OCIE shipments, and manually loading or unloading trucks or other transporting devices. Items are unpacked, shelved, or placed in proper storage locations according to the WMS. The worker is relatively unsupervised, uses a hand‑held radio frequency unit with LED readout, and operates a bar‑code scanner.

Accuracy and speed are important, and the worker must recognize discrepant 15‑digit part numbers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Report any discrepancies in orders to Shipping and Receiving supervisor.
  • Key in 15‑digit part numbers into computer.
  • Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturer’s standards of use and cleaning.
  • Work with supervisor toward meeting performance standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Daily use of a fork truck, reach truck, push carts, and motorized pallet jacks.
  • Operate with a high level of accuracy.
  • Enter computerized data and print tags.
  • Provide training support for peers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a moderate basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • No positive drug screen for the past 12 months.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get between job locations.
  • Must be able to gain and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Basic English reading and writing levels.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Must be able to recognize discrepant 15‑digit part numbers.
  • Must be able to be licensed on a forklift and a reach truck.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Maintain respectful communication and give/receive feedback.
  • Ability to follow directions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees need to be able to ask questions and voice concerns related to work and work environment.
