Job Summary:

Receives, stores, and issues machine tools, materials, and equipment in an industrial establishment.

Essential Functions:
  • Prepares, pre-sets, and delivers all tools needed for machining operations.
  • Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspects and measures tools for defects and wear and works with supervisors to eliminate waste.
  • Works with vendors to obtain quotes and source materials, supplies, and tooling
  • Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintains regular inventory and pricing of supplies, materials, and tools by performing audits and removing daily usage
  • Oversee and stock supplies throughout the building including Elm St, oil inventory, spill kits, safety glasses, etc.
  • Oversee hazardous communication labeling system throughout shop floor
  • Submits POs up to company standards for materials, supplies, and tools
  • Provides back up support to the receiving department as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of inventory management and tool tracking systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Familiarity with basic inspection and measurement techniques.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and organize inventory efficiently.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn company policies, AS9100, and ISO
    14001 requirements.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required. One to two years of related experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or tool room environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background

Prerequisites:

Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using PLEX or similar ERP/MRP systems for inventory tracking.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production support environment.
  • Takes initiative on process improvements
  • Experience working with the engineering department for process improvements and cost saving initiatives

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, and reach with arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Repetitiveness:

Tasks may involve repeated handling, issuing, and tracking of tools.

Work Environment:

Tool crib and production floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial equipment.

Hazards/PPE:

Must follow all safety procedures, use required PPE, and observe company safety protocols.
