Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator to join our client’s team. In this role, you will perform precise dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and advanced metrology software. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure tubing, brackets, and formed components meet all engineering and customer requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong measurement experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ResponsibilitiesCMM Operation & Measurement
- Set up, program, and operate CMM equipment to inspect parts, assemblies, and tooling.
- Create and run measurement programs using metrology software.
- Perform part alignment and CAD-to-part comparisons.
- Inspect GD&T features such as true position, profile, flatness, perpendicularity, and angularity.
- Maintain probe calibration and overall machine accuracy.
- Measure bent tubing and verify dimensions including bend angles, rotations, and lengths.
- Compare measurement results to CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Provide correction data to support CNC tube bending processes.
- Support first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections based on control plans and customer requirements.
- Record measurement results and maintain accurate inspection documentation.
- Prepare clear, audit-ready reports.
- Identify dimensional issues and support root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve nonconformances.
- Assist with validation of new tooling and processes.
- Follow ISO, IATF, and customer-specific quality standards.
- Maintain organized and calibrated inspection equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and support continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications- 2+ years of CMM experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience using metrology software and interpreting CAD models
- Strong understanding of GD&T standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate across teams
- Experience in tubing, metal forming, or fabrication environments
- Familiarity with CNC tube bending processes
- Knowledge of SPC, PPAP, and control plans
- Experience using additional inspection tools (optical comparator, height gage, laser scanners)
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
