Position Summary
Lapeer area high precision, high volume machining company is looking for Experienced CNC Mills/Lathes Operators to join their team. This is an automotive parts manufacturing facility. 1st and 2nd Shift available. Pay is based on experience, up to $24 per hour. Candidates must submit an up-to-date resume to be considered.
First Shift: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM and Second Shift: 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM, Monday–Saturday. Overtime is mandatory on weekdays and weekends.
This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently while maintaining production efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code) for Mill or Lathe operations.Set up machine including material, tooling selection, offsets, and fixture alignment.Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings to ensure part accuracy.Select proper cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.Machining & Production
Operate CNC Mill or Lathe to manufacture precision components.Monitor machine operations and adjust as necessary to maintain tolerances.Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).Maintain production efficiency while ensuring adherence to quality standards.Inspect and document parts as required on inspection sheets.Quality & Safety
Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.Qualifications
2+ years of CNC machining experience (Mill or Lathe specialization).Proficiency in G-code programming and editing at the machine.Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).Experience with precision measuring tools and quality inspection processes.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Experience with Fanuc, Allen Bradley isExperience machining a variety of materials.Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.Good work ethic, dependable, great communication skills, positive team player.Self-motivated, person of high integrity, shows initiative.Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Manual dexterity and attention to fine detail work.Benefits
