POSITION OVERVIEWJob Summary The Unit Supervisor oversees daily operations of the nursing unit to ensure high‑quality care for residents. This role involves leading and supervising the nursing team, coordinating care plans, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment. The Unit Supervisor fosters a collaborative work culture, facilitates communication with residents, families, and surveyors, and ensures goals related to care quality, resident satisfaction, and staff retention are met.
Roles and Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the nursing unit to ensure consistent, high‑quality resident care.
- Supervise nursing staff while fostering accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Conduct daily resident rounds, identify care needs, and address concerns promptly and effectively.
- Report resident care issues to the Director of Health Services.
- Coordinate and contribute to individualized care plan development to support optimal resident outcomes.
- Participate in the nursing on‑call rotation and provide clinical guidance to staff as needed.
- Support and contribute to staff performance evaluations, coaching, and ongoing competency development.
- Serve as a liaison with external surveyors and agencies.
- Promote and model customer service excellence and nursing best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, maintaining readiness for surveys and audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Associate Degree. - Experience:
1‑3 years.
Must have and maintain a current, valid nursing license and current, valid CPR certification.
Physical RequirementsSitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co‑workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
