Retail Associate

Goodwill Industries of Mid‑Michigan is looking for motivated, team‑building individuals to fill Full Time & Part‑Time Retail Associate positions in our Lapeer store located at 1945 W. Genesee St., Lapeer, MI 48446. Salary: $15 an hour plus bonus potential and 20% discount on in‑store purchases.

• Assist in maximizing store sales and helping increase the profit of Goodwill.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer/donor service.
• Perform tasks as assigned, including:
  • Cashier: Accurately operate cash register and conduct sales‑related functions according to policy and procedure; maintain cash register variance within acceptable margin; run 3 racks per hour, 5 if not on register.
  • Processor: Receive, process, price, and display merchandise as directed; achieve production standard of 85‑100 pieces per hour; use agency issued work gloves while sorting.
  • Rack Runner: Run 5 racks per hour, placing product properly and by color.
  • Retail Donation Attendant: Greet donors, assist with donations safely and professionally; maintain accurate donation and bill of lading records; keep donation area organized; assist with truck loading/unloading; use gloves.
  • Retail Custodian: Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, restrooms, and breakroom; empty trash, clean fixtures and shelving; keep exterior areas clear of debris; use gloves when handling chemicals.
  • Provide excellent customer service with a smile.

• Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts as assigned.
• Capable of lifting and carrying 35 pounds with or without help.
• Can reach, bend or stoop and use safe lifting techniques.
• Able to stand 6–8 hours a day.
• Has reliable transportation to report to work on time.
• Is pleasant, cheerful and professional.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Comfortable working in cold or warm temperatures depending on weather and donation traffic.
