Level Entry

Description

The Maintenance Technician supports day-to-day upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, tooling, and facility systems across a precision manufacturing environment serving the defense and aerospace industries. This is an entry-level role suited to a candidate with foundational mechanical or electrical aptitude who is looking to build a career in industrial maintenance within a highly regulated, quality-driven setting.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on CNC machines, presses, conveyors, and support equipment per established PM schedules.
  • Diagnose and repair basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Respond to machine downtime calls promptly and assist in root-cause troubleshooting to minimize production interruption.
  • Assist with installation, alignment, and setup of new or relocated equipment.
  • Maintain facility systems including lighting, HVAC support, compressed air, and general building upkeep.
  • Support inventory control for spare parts and maintenance supplies; flag reorder needs to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and general shop safety procedures without exception.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with 5S standards.
  • Assist skilled trades (electricians, millwrights, HVAC techs) on larger repair or installation projects as needed.
  • Escalate issues beyond current skill level to senior maintenance staff in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 6–12 months of hands-on maintenance, industrial, automotive, military, or mechanical trade experience — or equivalent vocational/technical training.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, schematics, or equipment manuals.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools safely and correctly.
  • Basic computer literacy for entering work orders and PM records.
