Make a meaningful impact by supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of K-12 students in a dynamic school environment. This contract-based opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and experienced School Social Worker ready to collaborate closely with educators, administrators, families, and the local community.

Key

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
  • Fully licensed Social Worker or limited license MSW
  • Valid LARA license, MDE SW Approval, and one of the following:
    Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate (PSSWC), Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC), or School Social Worker Permit (SSWP)
  • Ability to provide official university transcripts
  • Comfortable working onsite across K-12 settings
  • Experience working with special education students and developing intervention strategies in 1:1 and group settings
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify and evaluate the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of special education students to determine necessary interventions
  • Create and implement behavior management plans
  • Consult with general and special education teachers; deliver effective case management for students with diverse needs
  • Provide counseling services for students coping with emotional and behavioral challenges, both individually and in groups
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings, student assessments, and parent conferences
  • Collaborate with families through regular communication and home visits to foster supportive school-home partnerships
  • Work with community organizations and report cases of abuse, neglect, and participate in crisis intervention as required
Assignment runs from mid-August to early June, 35 hours per week, working directly with students and school teams onsite.
