assistant principal- east st. John high

st. John the baptist parish school system is seeking a highly qualified high school assistant principal to support instructional leadership, student achievement, school culture, and daily operations. The assistant principal will work closely with the principal, staff, students, families, and district leaders to ensure a safe, supportive, and academically focused school environment.

responsibilities include supporting instruction and staff development, monitoring student discipline and attendance, implementing school and district policies, supervising students and staff, and assisting with school improvement initiatives and campus operations. The assistant principal will promote high expectations, strong relationships, accountability, and a positive culture that supports all students, including students with disabilities.

minimum qualifications

• hold or be eligible to hold a valid louisiana educational leader level 1 (edl1) certificate or higher , or other school-level leadership credential authorized by the louisiana department of education in accordance with bulletin 746 ; and
• advanced degree in education, educational leadership, administration, or a related field;
• successful experience in secondary education, preferably at the high school level;
• prior school leadership or administrative experience;
• demonstrated knowledge of instructional leadership, student discipline, school improvement, staff development, and secondary school operations
