Can you read complex marine blueprints? Do you enjoy bringing large steel sections into perfect alignment and preparing them for weld-out? If so, this role puts your fitting skills at the center of ship and barge construction.
What you’ll tackle
Analyze and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout specs to guide fabrication.
Fit, align, and assemble structural parts for ships, barges, and other marine vessels.
Measure, cut, grind, and tack metal components to ready them for welding.
Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, grinders, and associated shipyard equipment.
Bring your precision and craft to every joint and seam—the finished vessel depends on it.
