We are currently searching for an experienced Carpenter to join our Barriere Construction Groupteam of talented employees!

• Perform basic and intermediate skillset of carpenter.
• Uses proper hand and power tools or small equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Proper use of hand signals during traffic control, spotting for equipment operators, and dumping trucks to perform required task safely and efficiently.
• Sets grades and slopes. This includes using levels, string lines, whirly or pipe lasers, Conventional and GPS surveying equipment.
• Keeps work zone and site clean by performing housekeeping tasks and leading others.
• Inspects hand and power tools for any defects. Lockout/ Tagout any defective hand and power tools, or small equipment
• Leads carpenters and operators with performing required crew repairs.
• I.E change wear items or implements (blades, buckets), electrical (battery, lights, fuses), body (tighten or replace bolts)
• Perform quarterly cleaning events with crew.
• Read and understand job plans and details
• Understand production targets and schedules.
• Setup, maintain, and project inventory of needed tools and materials for job tasks.
• Setup, verify, check grade and slopes with lasers (whirly and pipe), GPS equipment (base, rover, and data collector).
• Follows company policy, guidelines, and procedures.
• Knows and wears proper PPE for required tasks.
• Leads Daily TAR and reviews utility plan.
• Leads Stretch and Flex.
• Picks up and places safety devices as needed.

• High school diploma/GED required
• Must have at least Two years experience working as a Carpenter in the construction industry.
• Must abide by all Barriere safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Communicate and work together with people effectively.
• Perform manual labor in different types of work environments safely and efficiently.
• Understand use of basic hand and power tools and small equipment.
