Job Purpose:
The Accounting Associate Senior is responsible for processing daily financial transactions and supporting payment operations to ensure employees, students, and suppliers are compensated accurately and in accordance with university policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the departments' accounts payable and receivables. Prepare all accounts payable documents including purchase orders, travel vouchers, and IDTs for both academic and research support. Serve as the reconciler on all department P-Cards. Prepare and track pcard violation forms and work with pcard holders on understanding pcard rules. Prepare and initiate all Foundation Form 100's and transfers. Work in collaboration with Business Manager and Assistant Director, Business Operations concerning funding and support.
- Serve as a resource for college staff and faculty in interpreting university and college policies and procedures for financial operations.
- Initiate contracts, statement of work, sole source justifications, and lead negotiations of vendor terms & conditions when needed for the purchase of goods & services. Work with both Procurement and General Counsel to ensure the timely processing of all documents.
- Maintain accurate financial databases (Quick Books) and filing systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience:
1 year work-related experience

Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Accounts payable and receivable experience
- Experience with payroll and Human Resources functions
- Experience working in an academic setting including student contact
- Strong attention to detail
- Quick Books experience
