General Description
The Wyoming Department of Agriculture seeks to fill an Office Support II position for the Technical Services Division in Cheyenne, WY. The role serves as the public’s primary contact with the Division and its programs. Limited overnight travel may be required.
Essential Functions- Process licenses, permits, and registrations in accordance with state statutes.
- Track and monitor licensees across Wyoming.
- Reconcile payments collected for licensing programs.
- Provide licensing statistics and data to stakeholders for program compliance.
- Train and assist proctors on licensing policies and procedures.
- Perform administrative and customer‑service support for the division.
- Record official minutes for division meetings and affiliate‑assigned boards.
- Process registrations and applications for feed, fertilizer, pesticide products, and pesticide applicator licensing.
- Disseminate requested information to staff and the public.
- Sort and distribute mail, answer phones, and log time and leave sheets.
- Collect and catalogue inspector activity reports monthly.
- Assist other department divisions as needed.
- Education
:
Associate’s Degree in Business, Agriculture, or a closely related field. - Experience
: 0–2 years of progressive work in business office communications; or 2–4 years if substituted for education. - Preference for applicants with customer‑service, Microsoft/Google, and licensing database experience.
- Knowledge of computer applications, record‑keeping systems, and preparation of complex documents.
- Typical duties involve sitting; occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, and driving.
- No special physical demands beyond normal office work.
