Hourly Pooled - Buddy Ebsen Archives Scan Technician

This part‑time temporary position assists with digitizing the AHC’s Buddy Ebsen collection material to provide content for the AHC’s online digital platform Luna.

• Digital scanning of analog archival materials according to archival imaging standards.
• Transport and handling of that material according to archival best practices.
• Creation of descriptive metadata and supporting documentary records.

Other miscellaneous and related duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Digitization Lab Supervisor. This position reports directly to the Digitization Lab Supervisor.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Other requirements:

• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, performing them in a relatively short period of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written format.
• Computer, software, and writing skills commensurate with the creation of college‑level class assignments.
• Physically capable of moving and lifting up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Advanced computer skills relating to digital scanning hardware and software.
• Familiarity with metadata standards, particularly Dublin Core.
• Knowledge of archives theory and practice.
• Familiarity with Excel.
• Interest in western history, photography, and audio‑visual (AV) would be beneficial.

Starting rate of pay is $10.50 per hour, may be adjusted based on experience.
