JOB TITLE:

ADA Compliance Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:

The ADA/Section 504 Compliance Coordinator serves as the University's designated coordinator for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other applicable federal and state laws related to accessibility, disability accommodations, and nondiscrimination. This position provides institution-wide leadership, coordination, oversight, and consultation to ensure equitable access to university programs, services, activities, facilities, employment, and digital environments for students, employees, visitors, and members of the public.

The Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates institutional policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives that promote accessibility and compliance. The position serves as the University's central resource for disability-related compliance by coordinating accommodation processes; conducting institutional accessibility assessments; developing and delivering education and training programs and collaborating with stakeholders across the University to advance accessibility, inclusion, and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the University's designated ADA/Section 504 Compliance Coordinator and institutional subject matter expert, providing leadership and oversight for compliance with federal and state disability laws. Advise university leadership on regulatory obligations, institutional risk, accessibility strategies, and compliance-related decision-making affecting students, employees, applicants, visitors, and members of the public.
  • Lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of institution-wide policies, procedures, and accommodation frameworks to ensure equitable access, mitigate compliance risk, and maintain adherence to applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and oversee institutional accessibility assessments, audits, and compliance reviews of physical, programmatic, communication, and digital environments; identify systemic barriers; recommend corrective actions; monitor remediation efforts; and evaluate progress toward strategic accessibility and compliance objectives.
  • Direct and monitor enterprise-wide accessibility initiatives, establishing priorities and driving compliance efforts related to academic programs, employment practices, facilities, events, services, communications, and digital environments to advance accessibility and reduce institutional barriers.
