Middle School Art Teacher
Position Summary
The Middle School Art Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to students in various art disciplines in assigned courses as specified in the District's curriculum. This job is posted for the 2026/2027 school year.
Responsibilities- Plans and prepares for classroom instruction.
- Maintains knowledge of subject-area (Art) and teaches to District objectives and/or student IEPs.
- Personalizes instruction as necessary to account for individual student differences.
- Provides instruction to students in the Art area using various techniques and instructional strategies.
- Utilizes appropriate assessment strategies to measure learning and performance.
- Provides equity in the classroom by offering equal opportunities for all students regardless of race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, background, or abilities.
- Communicates with and strives to maintain a positive relationship with students and parents.
- Manages student behavior in the classroom.
- Organizes the classroom to promote learning, student safety, and ensures classroom equipment functions safely.
- Responds appropriately to student behavior in the total school environment by enforcing school rules in hallways, on school grounds, in other school areas away from the classroom, and on school-sponsored trips.
- Participates in professional growth and other professional activities (such as committees, task forces, in-depth studies, or councils).
- Follows the policies and procedures of the school and the District.
- Demonstrates professional responsibility, including ethical behavior; providing accurate data and reports when needed; meeting deadlines; maintaining confidentiality; caring for equipment and materials; and presenting a professional image.

- Effective communication skills; knowledge of education law and regulations; time management; strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with staff by collaborating and working cooperatively with them (including supervisors).
- Knowledge of developmental aspects of children and/or adolescents (physiological, psychological, emotional, educational).
- Ability to lead meetings and help groups achieve consensus.
Education: Bachelor's Degree; certification from Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with the endorsement in Art 5-8, 6-12 or K-12.
Work Experience: Experience as a secondary art teacher is preferred.
