Instruction and coaching of middle school basketball, developing skills and promoting student‑athlete success in the classroom and on court. Direct supervision of assigned personnel, ensuring sportsmanlike conduct.

• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student athletes’ needs.
• Manage and supervise all middle school basketball activities, contests, and practice sessions.
• Plan and implement instructional goals and objectives with other school staff.
• Coordinate a unified basketball program and collaborate with lower‑level teams.
• Establish performance criteria and evaluate student athletes on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure necessary precautions and safeguards for student athletes, equipment, and facilities.
• Monitor and enforce student eligibility for extracurricular participation.
• Schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements with the principal and other coaches.
• Assist in evaluating coaches and implement changes as needed.
• Accompany and supervise student athletes during competitions and travel.
• Maintain files of eligibility forms, transfer forms, grade reports, and district policies.
• Apply and enforce student discipline during contests, practice, and trips.
• Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of participation.
• Conduct conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
• Maintain inventory of basketball program assets.
• Oversee cleaning, repair, and storage of equipment.
• Annually establish and meet performance goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Understanding of child and adolescent development.
• Leadership and facilitation of meetings.
• Ability to help coaches reach consensus.

• Mandatory
  :
  Wyoming PTSB endorsement as a Head Basketball Coach.
• Preferred
  : 1+ year experience as a middle school basketball coach.
• Valid Wyoming teaching certification.

Vision: read small print and view computer screen for extended periods.

Hearing: answer phones, tolerate noisy conditions.

Speech: speak clearly in face‑to‑face and telephone contexts.

Upper Body Mobility: hands, fingers, wrist, elbow for manipulating objects and reaching.

Strength: lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 40+ pounds on a frequent basis.

Environmental: constant interruptions, collaboration, independence, indoor/outdoor work.

Mental: read, write, interpret, apply information; math at high school proficiency; judgement; quick processing; verbal instruction; task prioritization; record keeping.

Travel to multiple sites.

Position eval by Athletic Director/Principal.
