University of Wyoming Extension Summer Internship
Job PurposeUniversity of Wyoming Extension is offering part‑time summer internship opportunities for individuals interested in working with Extension programs across the state.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport and promote UW Extension projects and events through event assistance, outreach, and general program support.
Position Details- Pay: $15/hour
- Hours:
Up to 19 hours per week - Duration: 12 weeks (May 26 - August 16, 2026)
- Eligibility:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
$2,500 upon successful completion of the internship.
Housing and Background CheckInterns are responsible for securing their own housing for the summer. Selected candidates must successfully complete a University of Wyoming background and motor vehicle check as a condition of employment.
Academic Credit OptionInterns have the option to enroll in 1-4 academic credits through the University of Wyoming during the internship. The course is listed as:
Field Practicum:
Ext Work AGRI 4520. Interns are responsible for any associated tuition costs.
Internship placements will be based on alignment between applicant interests and available opportunities. Some counties offer blended experiences across multiple focus areas.
Participating Counties and Program Areas- Johnson County: 4-H;
Agriculture & Natural Resources (ANR) - Park County: 4-H;
Community Vitality & Health (CVH);

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP and a willingness to drive to and from program locations and events.
- Interest in exploring a career in Extension.
- Experience working with youth and community members.
- Highly dependable and organized.
- Strong communication skills.
UW Extension Office:
This position provides vital support to Extension programming and must be available to work at a selected UW Extension Office assigned to the internship.
