Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Resource/Title I Paraprofessional provides support to the Title I intervention program within the assigned classroom, improving students' success in basic academics (reading and math); relieving teachers of clerical tasks; and assisting students by modeling the skills necessary to perform assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Administers a variety of assigned activities (e.g., tests, homework assignments, make‑up work) to support teachers in the classroom.
- Attends meetings, such as in‑service presentations and staff meetings, to acquire and convey information related to job functions.
- Communicates with supervising instructional staff and professional support personnel to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
- Evaluates students during the school day (e.g., completion of assignments, life skills, response sequences) to take action or provide referrals.
- Maintains instructional materials, files, records, and charts to ensure availability and meet mandated requirements.
- Monitors individual and/or groups of students in various settings to ensure a safe and appropriate environment.
- Promotes good study habits to improve student outcomes.
- Manages assigned activities to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
- Monitors students during assigned periods to maintain a safe and positive school environment.
- Provides instruction to students in individual and group activities (e.g., reading, spelling, self‑esteem, behavioral skills) to reinforce instructional objectives and implement IEP plans.
- Provides adapted classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
- Provides feedback of observations to inform teachers and administrators of student progress.
- Responds to inquiries from various sources to solve problems and direct to other resources.
- Responds to emergency situations (e.g., injured student, school drills) to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Tutors students on assigned class work to support completion of assignments.
- Follows policies and procedures of the school and district.
- Demonstrates professional responsibility, ethical behavior, accurate data reporting, meeting deadlines, maintaining confidentiality, caring for equipment and materials, and presenting a good role model.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Effective communication skills and time management.
- Organizational skills and ability to maintain positive relationships with staff.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and software applications.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of instructional techniques, safety practices, conflict resolution, child development/behavior.
- Calm demeanor, confidentiality, and meeting deadlines.
- Minimum:
High school education or GED. - Preferred: 1+ year experience working in a school.
- Vision – able to read small print or view a computer screen for prolonged periods.
- Hearing – able to answer telephones and tolerate exposure to noisy conditions.
- Speech – able to be understood in face‑to‑face communications and over the telephone.
- Upper body mobility – use hands and fingers to manipulate small objects and lift objects.
- Strength – lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Work environment – constant interruptions, cooperation with others, independence, outdoor and indoor settings.
- Travel – requires travel to multiple sites.
Evaluation is performed by the Principal/Assistant Principal(s).

Salary: $22.11 to $27.99 per hour
