GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Temporary Seasonal Construction Technician in Laramie, WYto perform basic construction tasks under supervision to provide a safe and effective transportationsystem.

Thisis a temporary, full-time position that could last up to 9 months

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Construction tasks include performing basic lab tests and survey procedures.

* Perform construction inspections.

* Prepare and check computations and data.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference may be given to individuals who can perform algebraic calculations.

KNOWLEDGE:

* Knowledge of materials testing.

* Knowledge of surveying methods and equipment operations.

* Knowledge of construction inspection, which includes interpretation of plans and specifications.

* Skill in the use of computers.

* Strong math skills are required.

* Ability to perform algebraic calculations.

PHYSICAL

WORKING CONDITIONS:

* Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

* This position requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

* Individuals in this classification must be available for work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

* Acceptance of an appointment to this classification signifies that the individual is aware of this requirement and will comply with it.
