Job location:
Biological Sciences Building (Coop Laboratory), University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY
Pay rate or range: $15/hour
Job purpose:
Technicians assist in the processing of insect samples collected for avian research conducted in the Wyoming Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research Unit at the University of Wyoming.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Help isolate insects from soil samples in a laboratory setting
- Assist with insect identification and measurements
- Maintain a clean and safe lab environment
Minimum qualifications:
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and care in work
- Must communicate effectively
- Must be able to work, problem-solve, and manage time independently
- Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
Desired qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a laboratory setting
- Actively pursuing a career in biological sciences/natural resources

Flexible work:
Technicians are able to create their own work schedules. No work on the weekends is permitted.
Work location:
On-campus. This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
