Under the general supervision of the Chief electrician, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots electronic equipment. Must be able to read and interpret electronic and electrical drawings. Maintains, services, and repairs other electrical and various mechanical equipment. Works with repair crews by spotting, isolating, and disconnecting equipment to facilitate repair work. All other duties assigned by the Electrical Supervisor.
OverviewElectricians are responsible for repairing, servicing, and maintaining all electrical equipment throughout MCC operations while complying with all applicable mining regulations and/or MCC policies at all times.
- Electrical knowledge and aptitude.
- Have reliable attendance and safety records.
- Must be able to arc weld and use cutting torches.
- Be able to work without constant supervision.
- Be able to give and take directions.
- Knowledge of safe operations of mobile equipment used throughout all areas of the plant.
- Safety inspections of working areas shall be performed a minimum of once per shift as required by federal mining regulations. Additional inspections may be required as conditions warrant.
- The electrician is responsible for performing electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs to all pieces of machinery and infrastructure throughout all MCC operations.
- Performance of routine maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment. Clean and adjust motors, generators, starters, breakers, etc. Repair or replace broken or damaged conduit, wire, light bulbs, and fixtures, etc. Use voltage meters and test equipment for troubleshooting.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections to ensure reliability of numerous pieces of drive machinery. Reporting of malfunctioning equipment.
- Installation of new electrical equipment during new construction, machinery revisions/updates/replacements.
- Assist in mechanical repairs. Isolate and lock our drives to render safe working conditions. Disconnect motor leads and grounding to enable disassembly and removal of drives.
- The electrician is responsible for performing housekeeping duties in his work area to remove slip/trip/fall hazards. Work activities must be performed while adhering to all applicable federal/state regulations and MCC company policies at all times.
- Electricians must maintain a complete set of tools within ninety (90) days of being assigned this job classification. A complete list of tools will be provided upon hire.
- Electricians may be required to operate mobile equipment. Proper task training and safe operation guidelines will be adhered to at all times. Employees will not operate any piece of mobile equipment without being properly task trained as…
