Building Maintenance Technician
The Building Maintenance Technician supports the daily operations of residential properties by performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety inspections. This role ensures buildings remain safe, functional, and well-maintained for tenants and visitors.
Serves Laramie County by providing affordable housing options, housing choice vouchers (Section
8), and community resources.

Building Maintenance Technician Details:
- Direct hire position
- $20.00/hour
- Full time work available
- First shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)
- General: perform routine repairs on doors, windows, flooring, drywall, locks, and fixtures
- HVAC: replace filters, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with licensed technicians when needed for both residential and commercial HVAC systems
- Plumbing: address leaks, clogs, running toilets, and minor pipe repairs for both residential and commercial plumbing systems
- Electrical: replace outlets, switches, lighting, and troubleshoot minor electrical issues
- Preventive: conduct scheduled inspections of building systems, equipment, and common areas
- Safety: ensure fire alarms, emergency lighting, and safety equipment meet code requirements
- Groundskeeping: maintain exterior areas including snow removal, landscaping support, and debris cleanup
- Tenant: respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally, providing excellent customer service
- Recordkeeping: maintain accurate logs of completed work, inspections, and supply inventory
Building Maintenance Technician
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Demonstrated technical knowledge in general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC basics
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, capable of interacting effectively
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
