Masis Professional Group is recruiting for a Truck Driver on behalf of our client located in Laramie, WY. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive hourly payrate and benefits package.
Truck Drivers are responsible for the daily operations of over-the road haul trucks transporting raw materials from quarry areas to the plant, while complying with all applicable DOT, mining regulations, and company policies at all times.
Basic qualifications and/or traits that the Truck Driver must possess include:
- Two years verifiable experience with tractor-trailer operations preferred.
- Must have a current Commercial Drivers License (CDL-B with Tanker Endorsement Required. CDL-A Preferred).
- Must be DOT certified.
- Good mechanical background and ability to assist mechanics in servicing or repair of vehicle required.
- Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
- Must be able to take and give direction.
- Must be able to complete job assignments without constant supervision.
- Must have good attendance and safety record.
- Must abide by all company safety rules and operating guidelines, and be familiar with MSHA standards.
- Must be able to demonstrate proper pre-shift inspection of a vehicle, proper operation of a tractor-trailer in a loaded and unloaded state.
Responsibilities of the Truck Driver:
- Truck Drivers as required by DOT, company policies, and state/federal mining regulations must perform a pre-shift inspection of every piece of mobile equipment before it is put into operation. Examinations must be completed; cursory inspections are not adequate.
- Safety inspections of all working areas shall be performed a minimum of once per shift as required by federal mining regulations. Additional inspections may be required as conditions warrant.
- The Truck Driver is responsible for personally performing complete inspections of assigned work areas and mobile equipment to check for any operational and/or mechanical problems with equipment. All identified problems must be reported to the Truck Shop Supervisor or Quarry Supervisor.
- The Truck Driver is responsible for checking the lubrication, coolant, and fuel levels of all machinery/mobile equipment that the employee operates and adding lubricant, coolant, and fuel when necessary.
- Housekeeping of the equipment cabs is a responsibility of the Truck Driver. Clean out the equipment cab by the Truck Driver is to be performed daily.
- Truck Drivers may be required to operate various pieces of mobile equipment. Proper task training and safe operation guidelines will be adhered to at all times. Employees will not operate any piece of equipment without being properly task trained as required by MSHA regulations.
Physical Requirements of The Truck Driver:
The physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Working 8 hour - 12 hour shifts.
- Working in areas of heat, cold, muddy, icy, or dusty conditions for extended periods of time.
- Subject to twisting, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
