We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver to help bring the newest cement plant in the United States to life.
OverviewTruck Drivers are responsible for the daily operations of over‑the‑road haul trucks transporting raw materials from quarry areas to the plant, while complying with all applicable DOT, mining regulations, and Mountain Cement company policies at all times. They also operate trucks in the plant area and assist with other plant operations as required by their supervisor.
Qualifications- Two years verifiable experience with tractor‑trailer operations preferred.
- Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL‑B with Tanker Endorsement required; CDL‑A preferred).
- DOT certified.
- Good mechanical background and ability to assist mechanics in servicing or repair of vehicles.
- Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
- Strong leadership skills—able to take and give direction.
- Capacity to complete job assignments without constant supervision.
- Good attendance and safety record.
- Familiarity with MSHA standards and ability to abide by all Mountain Cement Company safety rules and operating guidelines.
- Ability to demonstrate proper pre‑shift inspection of a vehicle and proper operation of a tractor‑trailer in both loaded and unloaded state.
- CDL Class
A. - Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
- Perform a pre‑shift inspection of every piece of mobile equipment before it is put into operation.
- Complete a pre‑shift inspection sheet for each mobile equipment examined.
- Ensure that any equipment with safety defects is tagged out of service until repairs are performed.
- Perform safety inspections of all working areas at least once per shift, and additional inspections as conditions warrant.
- Report any identified problems to the Truck Shop Supervisor or Quarry Supervisor.
- Check lubrication, coolant, and fuel levels of all machinery/mobile equipment and add lubricant, coolant, or fuel as necessary.
- Maintain housekeeping of the equipment cabs; clean out the cab daily and keep loose items contained.
- Notify the supervisor immediately if unable to repair an identified deficiency.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, and company regulations when performing corrective actions.
- Work 8‑hour to 12‑hour shifts.
- Operate in areas of heat, cold, muddy, icy, or dusty conditions for extended periods.
- Twist, bend, stoop, lift, and climb as required.
