Job Overview

To perform billing, cost entry and profit sharing functions in FTN's trans system for assigned or centrally billed transportation accounts. Manage and complete the financial reconciliation of vendor invoices to costs from the transportation system, audit carrier invoices and approve for payment by accounts payable. Review end to end shipment for accuracy and upon completion performs profit share calculation and record in both origin and destination company books.

Complete within Fed Ex Trade Networks (FTN & t&b) timeline policy for intercompany settlement.

Responsibilities

Audit files to ensure service provider invoices coincide with agreed rates with account. Ensure invoices are booked timely and correctly into etrans for payment processing. Work with department supervisor/ manager resolving discrepancies and /or open balances concerning dept service providers invoices/statements as needed. Reconcile and close files in an accurate and complete manner within policy. Monitors shipments processed by operations and completes origin and destination intercompany and customer billing in timely manner in accordance with FTN policy for revenue recognition.

Audit amounts billed to customers against the amounts paid to vendors. After file is complete, calculate profit sharing. Monitor reports such as the accrual report, paid not paid, transaction reports, timeline, clearing account, int'l billing and other similar reports associated with file closing to ensure the financial health of the department. Work directly with rsp's and FTN offices to assure agreement of p&l, and payables and receivables.

Review transactions to assure compliance with rsp and customer agreements. Coordinate or complete billing functions with operations to assure correct billed and paid amounts (include supplemental, adjusted invoices, 3rd party billing as required). Coordinate with FTN's finance and int'l finance departments to resolve financial disputes.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED. Two (2) years of logistics and/or acctg experience required. Associates degree in accounting, finance or logistics will be accepted in lieu of experience. General knowledge of acctg, including understanding and analyze accounting reports. Knowledge and familiarity with FTN transportation operations desired. Attention to detail, Excel experience, effective research and deductive reasoning skills, strong organizational and communication skills required.

  • Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Six (6) months brokerage experience required.
  • One (1) year experience with customer contact required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience using computer systems in a professional, educational, or comparable environment with the ability to perform routine tasks such as data entry, document creation, navigation of standard software applications, and operation of basic office equipment.
  • CCS and/or Brokers license preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Organizational and inter-personal skills.
  • Problem solving Skills.
  • Handle high volume of work.
  • Handle time sensitive work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference material.
  • Interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, management of all levels, internal departments.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, harmonized tariff schedules required.
Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 10 year experience on the Customs clearance industry. CW knowledge. USMCA – 232 section.

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
