Position: Marketing Business Development Supervisor, (A263196-4), 208, Buena Vista Sports Complex

Overview

The Marketing and Business Development Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of marketing, sponsorship, and business development strategies to promote the sports complex. This position focuses on increasing facility usage, attracting tournaments and events, developing community and corporate partnerships, and enhancing the complex’s visibility and financial sustainability.

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and executes comprehensive marketing campaigns, manage the branding, social media, website content, advertising and public relations efforts.
  • Promotes tournaments, leagues, and community programs at the sports complex.
  • Executes strategies to increase facility revenue, and new revenue sources.
  • Pursues business development opportunities, including sponsor ships, advertising sales, partnerships, event rentals.
  • Assists in working with tournament directors, local leagues, and regional sports organizations to attract and support events.
  • Performs other responsibilities, administrative and planning duties, as required.
  • Good communication between staff, visitors and other business contacts.
  • Follow up rules or telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
  • Prepares marketing budgets, tracking Return on Investment, maintaining sponsorship and revenue data, preparing reports for management or Council.
  • Schedules and assigns shifts for concession and maintenance staff.
  • Oversees employee training to ensure compliance with food handling, safety standards, and customer service protocols.
  • Ensures that inventory and supplies for the concession area are ordered and on hand, and that POS equipment is in proper operating condition.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

  • Knowledge of principles of marketing, branding, and promotion.
  • Knowledge of strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting and financial analysis.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Skills in using digital marketing tools, social media, and basic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe, Creative Suite).

  • Ability to analyze market trends, prepare reports, and recommend strategies to increase facility revenue.

  • Ability to maintain a valid Texas Driver License and a good driving record.

  • Ability to maintain good health and physical condition sufficient to permit the full performance of the duties of this position.
