Job Summary
KGNS+ in Laredo, TX is seeking a photographer/editor who excels at identifying, gathering, and editing powerful images and compelling sound. The photographer/editor shoots and edits videos of various news events and is responsible for capturing the visuals of news stories and editing all forms of media for daily news broadcasts, continuous news platforms, and other special projects.
Responsibilities- Shooting video and editing multiple news videos for various newscasts.
- Collaborating with producers and newsroom members to select and edit the best visuals to represent newscast content.
- Working with accuracy and attention to detail under multiple daily deadlines.
- Performing solo work and working with reporters and anchors on live shots, investigative/promo table content, and special projects, including live and remote broadcasts.
- Shooting and editing video for daily news broadcasts and the station's digital platform.
- Providing solid news judgment, excellent communication skills, and problem‑solving abilities. Writing skills are a plus.
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
- College degree preferred.
- Two years of related news experience.
- Desire to win, positive attitude, and ability to reflect on work and apply feedback.
- Ability to work quickly and multitask under deadline pressure and breaking news.
- Ability to work long hours, weekends, and overnights for breaking news and specialized coverage.
