Position: Student Worker (Int'l Experience)

Student Worker (Int'l Experience) – Agency Texas A&M International University Department Office of International Experiences

Assist the Office of International Experience in providing clerical support which may include conducting background research, maintaining records, and/or assisting with special projects related to the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Handle routine office inquiries from employees and students.
  • Assist in the day-to-day maintenance and responsibilities of the assigned department.
  • Perform clerical functions including answering phones, filing, scheduling, organizing, etc.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate students; 3 credit hours per semester for graduate students).
  • Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.
  • Meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
Preferred Experience and Education
  • Experience designing content for promotional purposes for social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), flyers, and presentations using software such as Spark, CANVA, Photoshop, Prezi, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in use of personal computer workstation with common software applications.
  • Ability to organize and multitask to ensure compliance with deadlines.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
  • Problem analysis and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.

Other Requirements
  • Position requires on‑campus, face‑to‑face interactions.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
  • Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but must not conflict with the class schedule.
  • Promptly complete all required training.
  • Submit timesheet biweekly.
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Subject to funding and/or need.

Pay: $8.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly.
