Interior Design Coordinator / Assistant Project Manager

Location: Laredo, TX

Position Summary

Ariva Construction is seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Interior Design Coordinator / Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, design, and execution of residential and commercial construction projects.

This role will assist with interior finish selections, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, support project managers throughout the construction process, and help ensure projects are completed on schedule and according to design specifications.

The ideal candidate has a passion for design, strong project coordination skills, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients and project teams with interior finish and material selections.
  • Prepare design boards, presentations, and finish packages.
  • Coordinate material samples, product specifications, and submittals.
  • Review shop drawings and assist with design documentation.
  • Support Project Managers throughout all phases of construction.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Track project schedules, procurement, and installation timelines.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and finish schedules.
  • Conduct site visits to verify design intent and project progress.
  • Assist in resolving design and construction coordination issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in interior design, construction coordination, or project management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with residential and/or commercial construction projects.
  • Sketch Up experience.
  • Revit experience.
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Bluebeam or Procore experience.
  • Knowledge of construction documents, shop drawings, and finish schedules.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
