Locums - Laredo, Texas Interventional Radiology Coverage - No Weekend Call

Position Overview:

Excellent short-term Interventional Radiology opportunity in a supportive hospital environment with a dedicated IR team and no weekend call responsibilities. This assignment offers consistent weekday hours, manageable case volume, and the potential for future coverage dates.

Coverage Dates:

• March 12, 2026 - March 23, 2026

• Additional future dates possible (TBD)

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

• Evening call Monday-Thursday, 5:00pm - 8:00am

• No call coverage Friday, Saturday, or Sunday

Practice Setting:

• Inpatient and Outpatient

• Average 15-16 cases per day

• Approximately 10 phone consults daily (24-hour period)

• Assigned and unassigned patients

• 30-minute call response time required

• Hospital Stroke Certified

• Trauma Level III facility

• EMR:
  Cerner and Athena

Clinical Scope:

IR physicians perform interventional procedures only (no diagnostic reads), including interpretation of procedures performed. Common procedures include:

• Fistulogram and declotting

• Liver mass biopsy

• Thoracentesis

• Thyroid biopsy

• Shoulder arthrogram

• Paracentesis

• Renal mass embolization

• Central lines and tunneled HD catheter placement

• Abdominal mass biopsy

• Bone marrow aspiration

• CVL placement

Support Team:

• Three IR nurses

• Four radiology technologists

Requirements:

• Active Texas license - Required

• Fellowship Preferred

• ACLS and BLS - Required
