Clinical Shift

Schedule:

12-hour shifts (days, nights, and overnights)

• Patient Demographics:
  Adults and Geriatrics
• Patient Volume/Census:
  Annual ED volume approximately 43,000

• No. of Beds in Department: 38 ED beds (3 Trauma, 8 Fast Track)
• Trauma Level: Level III (typical for regional facility; confirm if different)
• Specialty Backup Available:
  Yes – Multiple Specialties
• Support Staff Available: RNs, APPs, and Allied Health Staff

• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance:
  Covered

• Full scope of Emergency Medicine procedures
• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications required (ATLS current not required for ABEM-certified physicians)
• Annual requirement: 9 hours of Stroke CME and 9 hours of Trauma CME

• Licenses:
  Active Texas Medical License and DEA (with TX address)
• Board:
  Board Certified in ABEM, ABFM, or ABIM (or osteopathic equivalents)
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required;
  Current ATLS not required for ABEM providers (initial ATLS required)
• Experience:
  
  Residency trained in Emergency Medicine or relevant specialty
• Other
  
  Qualifications:
  
  Annual Stroke CME (9 hours), Annual Trauma CME (9 hours), case logs for past 2 years; copies of all diplomas, SS card, driver’s license, and photo required for MSO submission

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care for patients presenting to the ED
• Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions in an emergency setting
• Coordinate with nursing and support staff for efficient patient throughput
• Document all encounters accurately within the EMR system
• Participate in emergency response and trauma activations as required
