Assist department staff and perform general office duties.

• Handle routine office inquiries from employees and students.
• Assist in day‑to‑day maintenance and responsibilities of the assigned department.
• Perform clerical functions including answering phones, filing, scheduling, organizing, etc.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Enrolled at least half‑time: 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduates, 3 credit hours per semester for graduates.
• Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.
• Have a current, complete file with the Office of Financial Aid.
• Demonstrate financial need by submitting a FAFSA application annually.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non‑citizen with an alien registration number.
• Meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).

• Proficiency in using a personal computer workstation with common software applications.
• Ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal relationship, and communication skills.
• Problem analysis and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.

• Position requires on‑campus, face‑to‑face interactions.
• Maintain a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace; schedule must not conflict with class schedule.
• Promptly complete all required trainings.
• Input hours worked daily and submit time sheet biweekly.
• Subject to funding and/or need.

$8.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly.

• Undergraduate Students
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester of college‑level courses or accepted remedial courses.
  • International undergraduates must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours to meet federal immigration guidelines.
  • Maintain a 2.0 TAMIU overall GPA.
• Graduate Students
  • Enrolled in at least 3 credit hours per semester.
  • International graduates must enroll in 9 semester credit hours to meet federal immigration guidelines.
  • Maintain a 3.0 TAMIU overall GPA.
• Students graduating may enroll for less than half‑time in their final semester; proof of graduation must be submitted.
