Job SummaryThe Intervention Specialists work under general supervision to equip at‑risk students (those on academic probation and/or suspension) with the tools to succeed by providing proactive advising—ongoing support through timely and direct communication and in‑depth discussions of academic progress, performance, and degree planning. This may include holistic support (identifying external factors impacting academic success of students and connecting students with campus and community resources) and academic intervention (providing opportunities for academic, personal, and career development) to at‑risk students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- In conjunction with the Academic Success Coaches, provide students assistance with registration including advising students, processing add/drops from courses, checking prerequisites, class availability, and reviewing the academic standing of students.
- Help students review and submit the Academic Reinstatement Appeal.
- Implement student assessment, review with students and program team, and monitor progress of students who are on probation, suspension, or identified as "at‑risk" by university standards.
- Identify and execute new and/or revised strategies to maximize retention efforts through a holistic retention model and assist in the implementation and evaluation of these strategies.
- Respond to faculty/staff‑submitted early alerts and support students in establishing goals to promote success.
- Act as a liaison for academic support services such as tutoring, library services, and Student Support Services programs on campus.
- Act as a liaison between various student affairs areas such as Counseling, Student Disability Services, Career Services, and Financial Aid.
- Practice data‑driven outreach, proactive resource referral, and timely academic solution interventions to meet the needs of students.
- Maintain confidential student records and program data.
- Document advising notes, check‑ins, and other academic interventions.

Minimum Requirements- Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
- Experience: Three years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of:
- Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
