Job DescriptionThe Department of Fine & Performing Arts seeks qualified applicants for future part‑time Adjunct Faculty appointments in Theater for Teaching of Theater Appreciation, Acting (fundamentals, theory, and practice), and/or Playwriting & Analysis. Applicants may teach up to nine (9) semester credit hours within the discipline, hold office hours, and assist students as needed. Face‑to‑face instruction on campus is required.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in theater appreciation, acting, or play writing & analysis.
- Develop and deliver course materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Hold office hours and provide academic support to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and adhere to institutional policies.
- Master’s degree in Theater Arts or related field.
- Previous collegiate level teaching experience in drama/theater.
- Minimum five years of university teaching experience (preferred).
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and work under tight deadlines.
- Professional interaction with the general public.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments per semester. Benefits and compensation will be consistent with Texas state law and university policy up to the defined maximum.
